Lorena yang berusia enam tahun tidak mau melakukan kontak mata dengan anggota keluarganya, apalagi berbicara dengan mereka.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla memperhatikan tindakan Lorena dengan cermat, bertanya-tanya apakah ada yang bisa dia bantu. Kemudian muncul ide untuk mengajarkan kosa kata kepada Lorena, yang suka memainkan tuts piano. Artinya, 26 huruf alfabet dari A sampai Z ditulis di keyboard dan diajarkan mempelajari kata-kata dengan menekannya. Hasilnya adalah kesuksesan besar. Lorena menghafal semua alfabet, membaca kata-kata, dan mulai berkomunikasi dengan keluarganya. Dan dia membuka hatinya hingga dia berkata, &#8220;Aku mencintaimu, Kayla.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Metode pengajaran yang diciptakan Kayla diterapkan dengan sangat efektif di beberapa kelas pendidikan khusus di Kanada dan Amerika Serikat.
