On a spring day full of cherry blossoms, which bloomed earlier than usual, the Church of God held an event to cheer on young adult workers who are the power of society. This is the “22nd Seminar for Workers” held at the New Jerusalem Temple in Pangyo, Korea, on April 2, in presence of more than 1,900 people, including worker members and their friends in the metropolitan area. This seminar was broadcast live on YouTube, which was watched by about 2,500 people all over the country.

The invitees arrived at the event early enough to walk around the church with their co-workers or friends, enjoying the spring in full, which made them refreshed from their busy lives. The seminar was held for the first time after wearing a mask indoors was no longer mandatory, and so the side events like calligraphy booth and the photo zone inside the church were crowed with the visitors.

At 12:30, the seminar began with the welcome greetings from the host. As the Chamber Orchestra appeared on the stage, the hall became quiet right away and filled with the beautiful harmony of various musical instruments such as violin, cello, clarinet, euphonium, and so on. The Chamber Orchestra comforted the audience’s hearts with a soft and lyrical melody such as the Church of God’s New Song, “I Imagine to Myself” and “Serenade to Spring” which was changed as “On a Wonderful Day in October” in Korean. The choir received applause for singing the New Song, “There Is Only Heaven in My Heart,” and the fusion Korean traditional song named “Beautiful Country.”

The next performance was a skit which humorously depicted the types of retirement plans. They vividly described how workers prepare for the uncertain future with their own methods such as investment, installment saving, frugality, and so on, and received a great response. The audience enjoyed the performance of the actors with laughter, and they felt the same way with them, listening attentively to the seminar that began with the question of the host, “Do you know how to prepare for the eternal future, not the future that ends someday?”

The subject of the seminar was “At an Uncertain Present Time, the Best Way to Prepare for the Future.” The three presenters testified about the existence of the soul through the Bible and introduced the New Covenant Passover as the way to prepare for the future, the kingdom of heaven, where eternal happiness is guaranteed. The presenters finished the seminar, hoping that workers, who go through difficulties every day, would celebrate the Passover and prepare for the future without regrets in God’s blessing.

Yuk Hye-jeong, who came with her ex-colleague, said, brightly smiling, “It was nice to spend time with my ex-colleague who invited me. It is needed for us, workers, to forget our tiring work even for a while.” Hong Gi-chan, who was invited by his colleague, said, “I felt calm, and the stress that I had at work was gone. It is worthwhile to take time to come on a holiday. It was my first time hearing about the plan for the future, the heavenly kingdom, but I could understand it.”
