Major Awards Received

The world is inspired by God’s love for mankind.
The Church of God helps its neighbors and communities with sincere
volunteer services in the world where individualism and selfishness are prevalent.
Governments of many different countries and institutions have awarded the Church
with more than 2,600 medals, citations, and certificates of recognition and appreciation.

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

Recognized with the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [MBE]
Prestigious award acknowledged in 53 member states of the Commonwealth

Through thorough and rigorous assessment for several years, and after the Queen’s formal approval, the award is given to groups that have contributed to local communities with constant volunteer services and that have received support and respect from residents.

It is the most prestigious award for a group in the U.K. that regards honor as important. The award recipients are made the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [MBE].

The Church of God has practiced Mother’s love in the U.K. with many different types of volunteer services such as flood damage recovery, environmental cleanups, blood drives, consolatory visits to nursing homes, and supporting local events. Inspired by the Church’s constant devotion and services, citizens, mayors, councilors, and many more have joined us.

Awards from ten metropolitan boroughs
of Greater Manchester in the U.K.

The Church of God received successively awards and letters of appreciation from mayors and councilors in all metropolitan boroughs of Greater Manchester: Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan, and Oldham.

U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award

The most prestigious volunteer service award in the U.S. Lifetime Achievement Award
(highest honor for an individual) & Gold Award (highest honor for a group, 12 times)

A premier volunteer award given to individuals or groups that have carried out volunteer services for neighbors and communities in the U.S.; according to service achievement, it is divided into bronze, silver, and gold levels. Those who contribute more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime receive the highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award, on top of bronze, silver, and gold awards.

The Church of God’s contribution to the nation and communities through diverse volunteer services such as environmental cleanups, blood drives, disaster recovery, and welfare for seniors and people in need has been recognized with Gold Award (12 times), the highest honor for a group, and with the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor for an individual.

Proclamation of Atlanta City Council

Proclamation of the Church of God Day

The Cities of Denver, Orlando, and San Diego declared a commemorative day for the Church of God and encouraged their citizens to join its volunteer services.

Presidential Awards from Three Korean Governments

Presidential Group Citation, Medal of Merit, Presidential Citation

The Church’s contribution to the development and unity of Korea through multiple volunteer services for environmental protection, disaster relief and recovery, and supporting community events—such as typhoon, flood, and oil spill recovery efforts, free meal service for the victims of the Sewol ferry tragedy, and cleanups—has been recognized with the presidential group citation, the highest honor for a group, the medal of merit, and the presidential citation.

Korean Presidential Group Citation

The most honorable award for a group

The award is given to a group that has provided good services in a certain field for over five years, and it is very unusual for a religious group to receive the award. The Church has carried out devotional volunteer services such as typhoon, flood, and oil spill recovery efforts, free meal service for the victims of the Sewol ferry tragedy, and beach cleanups. Such contribution to marine environment protection and negligent accident prevention was recognized with the award.
