On December 21, the “Chamber Orchestra Happy Concert With Neighbors” was held at the Church of God in Banglim, Gwangju, and the “Happy Concert & Seminar With Neighbors” was held at the Church of God in Jinju. The events were prepared to conclude the year by presenting neighbors a time of healing and to wish for a healthy passage into the coming new year. On this day, about 1,000 people in total—including local members, families, friends, acquaintances, and figures from various sectors—attended and spent meaningful time communicating with one another.

At the Gwangju Church, the event opened with a performance by a chamber orchestra composed of local members of the Church of God. The orchestra created a bright and hopeful atmosphere with a variety of music, including the Church of God New SongWe Will Be Changed in a Flash,” the Pinocchio OST “When You Wish Upon a Star,” and a medley from the Frozen soundtrack. This was followed by a vocal ensemble that moved the audience with performances of the fusion traditional Korean music piece “Beautiful Country,” as well as children’s songs expressing longing for one’s hometown, such as “Spring in My Hometown” and “Mom, Sister.”

At the Jinju Church, a seminar titled “Family Is a Gift” was held after the concert. The presenters reminded attendees of the value of family members who are always by one’s side as a source of strength, and read essays about parental love. As stories revealing a father’s sincere feelings hidden behind awkward expressions and a mother’s love for her children were shared, attendees were moved to tears as they thought of their own parents. The presenters concluded by expressing their hope that everyone would reflect on family love and welcome a new year filled with blessings.

Han Dae-won from Gwangju, who attended at the invitation of an acquaintance, smiled and said, “Listening to the music today felt like going into clear water and coming back out—it felt refreshing and cleared my head. If people’s hearts brighten through concerts like this, I think it will also help communication among neighbors.” Koo Si-hoon from Jinju said, “Usually, I can only see my family briefly in the evening because of studying, but after finishing my final exams, it was a joyful time for our whole family to be together. I will remember the love of my parents I felt today and spend more time with my family.” Lim Cheol-gyu, a member of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council, stated, “I sincerely thank the Church of God for preparing an event that allows neighbors to enjoy culture. I hope this event becomes an opportunity for harmony among local residents.”
