In Thailand which has a tropical climate, the average annual temperature is 28℃ [82.4℉]. However, in December of 2019, the temperatures dropped across Thailand due to intense cold fronts from China. In some parts of the country, the temperature was below 10℃ [50℉] due to the strong wind.
This sudden cold weather hit the house of a father (38) of two daughters in a village in Bueng Kan Province in northeastern Thailand. Since the house was under construction, there were not doors and windows yet, which let the cold wind blew right through. The father gave all of his blankets to his daughters, and he slept on a thin mat. He was dressed in a shirt and shorts. His eight-year-old daughter placed one of the blankets over her father, curled up from the cold, when she woke up in the middle of the night.
However, he did not wake up the next morning. The father, who had no medical issues, died of hypothermia. The blankets he placed over his daughters were not just blankets, but they might have been the best love that he could give as a father.
