Two women came before King Solomon for judgment. Each woman claimed to be the mother of a child.

“My lord, this woman and I live in the same house. I had a baby while she was there with me. The third day after my child was born, this woman also had a baby. During the night this woman’s son died because she lay on him. So she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side while I was asleep. The next morning, I got up to nurse my son—and he was dead! But when I looked at him closely in the morning light, I saw that it wasn’t the son I had borne.”

“No! The living one is my son, and the dead one is hers.”

“No, the living one is surely my son!”

King Solomon, who had been watching them argue, gave an unexpected order.

“This one says, ‘My son is alive and your son is dead,’ while that one says, ‘No! your son is dead and mine is alive.’ Bring me a sword, and cut the living child in two and give half to one and half to the other.”

One of the women was pleased with the king’s command.

“That’s good. Neither I nor she shall have him. Cut him in two!”

However, the other woman was filled with compassion for her son and said to the king,

“Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Do not kill him!”

Then the king gave his ruling.

“Give the living baby to this woman. Do not kill him; she is his mother.”

The baby was safely carried back into his mother’s arms.

A mother thinks about her child’s life and safety first in any situation.

The true mother could not let her child die, and she chose the pain of parting from him to save his life. The heart of the true mother shows exactly the heart of our Heavenly Mother who had no choice but to let Her children come down to this earth because they had committed sin in heaven, deserving of eternal punishment in hell.

There are numerous souls who are in danger of death, being taken captive to Babylon—the mother of the prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth (Rev 17:5). The only way for them to live is to meet the true Mother who gives them life. Let us proclaim Heavenly Mother who has come to this earth to restore the glory of heaven to us, Her children, and preach the way of life to all people.
