A boy goes to repair his little sister’s shoes, but he loses them on his way back. His sister, who lost her only shoes, was very disappointed. The boy knows that his parents cannot afford to buy new shoes but will scold him even if he tells them the truth. So he asks his sister to share his shoes. As the girl goes to school in the morning and her brother in the afternoon, when his sister comes back after school and takes off the shoes for her brother, he then goes to school. The sister runs to hand the shoes to her brother quickly, and the brother runs not to be late for school.
Meanwhile, they hear the news that children’s marathon will be held. So, the brother participates in the competition with a desperate heart. It is because a pair of sneakers will be awarded to the third place. The boy’s goal is only to win the third place. Unexpectedly, however, he wins the first place. The brother comes back home with a sad look and cannot lift his head because he feels sorry to his sister. The worn-out sneakers that they have shared are now torn out that they can no longer wear them. That day, the children’s father is riding home with a pair of white shoes and a pair of pink shoes on his bike.
This is a plot of the film, Children of Heaven. The glory of the first place was meaningless to the brother who ran only to win a pair of sneakers for his sister. The place where there is such a beautiful brotherly love must be the kingdom of heaven.
