The Bible likens young adults to the dew of the dawn (Ps 110:3). As I am also a young adult, I have often heard the words “dew of the dawn.” However, I didn’t know what it really meant when I heard it before. I just thought, ‘Does it mean that we should always take the lead in doing something, like the dew that forms early in the morning when everyone is sleeping?’

Then I happened to know the meaning of it. In Israel, the setting of the Bible, the dry season lasts for about six months. Despite no rain during that period, plants can survive thanks to the early morning dew that forms as a result of the temperature difference between day and night.

Young adults are relatively free in many ways. They can do anything and go anywhere they want to. Since they are in such favorable circumstances, compared with other age group, God wants them to go out into the world and provide the water of life to all of the spiritually dry places. That’s probably why God compares young adults to the dew of the dawn.

When I thought about the wonderful meaning of the dew of the dawn, I came to have a stronger sense of duty. As a young adult of God, I will diligently provide the water of life to every corner of the world to save lives, like the dew of the dawn that moistens the dry earth.
