Fathers’ Dream

After taking the SAT, some high school students were asked of what their dreams were. Their answers varied: making debut as a singer, traveling around the world, eating fried chicken as much as they want, farming on the school ground, and so on.

Then, another question was given: “If you have only one year left to live, which one will you choose, achieving your dream or having 500,000 dollars?” They all chose their dream; they regarded their dreams as more valuable than anything else.

On the other hand, their fathers were asked of the same question. The fathers’ dream was to travel with their families, to build a nice house to live happily with their families, to meet their sons’ friends, and so on. When they were asked of which one they would choose if they had only one year left to live, they answered they would choose money rather than what they wanted to do. The reason was only one―for their family.

The hearts of all fathers are the same. If it is for the sake of their children and for the happiness of their family, fathers are always ready to take any sacrifice. Fathers’ dream is their families.
