“Good Job!”

In our school days, when our teacher placed this “good job” stamp on our assignment after checking to see if we had completed it, we were as happy as if we had gained the whole world. Everyone probably experienced this kind of joyous moment during their childhood. We felt joyful and happy just to see the “good job” stamp, so in order to receive that stamp, we did our assignments wholeheartedly even though we felt like playing outside with our friends. This must still have remained a pleasant memory for someone.

Now, an incomparable compliment—the greatest compliment of all—has been reserved for us.

“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’ His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ ” Mt 25:19-21

Whenever we bear good fruit by carrying out the gospel mission entrusted to us, we will receive a “good job” stamp from God and it will remain as a sign of glory forever. Is there a more honorable compliment than this? Waiting for the glorious day when Father will say to us, “Well done, My good and faithful child!” we should run diligently to fill the book of life with the “good job” stamps.
