I watched a video entitled “Elementary Schools’ Tug-of-War That Moved the World.” It was a tug-of-war between two elementary schools in Kazakhstan. True to its title, the video was very touching.

From the beginning of the tug-of-war, the blue team was in the lead. In the beginning, most of the children of the red team were drawn to their opponent’s side, and only one boy remained in the baseline. The boy was trying hard not to cross the baseline, and he never let go of the rope even with his face distorted by the pain. While everyone was astonished at the boy enduring the pain by clenching his teeth to wrestle with the game, the momentum leaned toward the red team like a miracle. Even afterwards, the red team met many of crucial moments. But the boy did not give up until the end, and when the rest of the red team saw it, they made extra efforts and won a miraculous come-from-behind victory.

I felt many things, watching the boy show an unyielding spirit in a situation that ordinary people would give up.

We are now in a spiritual tug-of-war with the goal of entering heaven, and we need to have an indomitable fighting spirit like the boy. The spiritual tug-of-war may be painful, but if we patiently endure like the boy in the video and cooperate with one another, we will surely be able to win a brilliant spiritual victory.
