Church Members in the Gyeongnam Region Carry Out Emergency Flood Recovery for 541 Households in Sancheong and Hapcheon
A Warmhearted Effort to Support Flood Victims
Members of the Church of God from ten regions in the Gyeongnam area—including Jinju, Changwon, Tongyeong, and Geoje—carried out emergency flood recovery efforts for 541 households in Sancheong and Hapcheon Counties, Korea. On July 21 and 23, about 1,400 volunteers joined the initiative over the two days, rolling up their sleeves to support residents in need.
The volunteers helped move furniture and damaged belongings out of the flooded homes and thoroughly cleaned interiors dirtied by the rising water. In vinyl greenhouses and livestock sheds, they cleared mud and debris washed in by the heavy rain and organized soaked fertilizer bags and boxes.
One flood victim expressed deep gratitude, saying, “You were the very first to come and help us. Thank you so much.”
