Members of the Church of God in Gwangju Metropolitan City, Korea, along with members from nearby Jangseong and Hwasun Counties, carried out flood recovery work for seven households in Sinan-dong, Gwangju, which had suffered severe damage from the recent extreme rainfall. The volunteer efforts took place on July 23 and August 17, with a total of 310 participants devoting their time and strength.

On July 23, volunteers visited the affected homes and moved waterlogged household items and appliances outside, stripped damaged wallpaper and flooring, and thoroughly cleaned every corner to prevent mold and further deterioration. After allowing the buildings to dry, they returned on August 17 to install new flooring and neatly reapply wallpaper on the walls and ceilings, helping the families return to a safe and livable environment. Seo Yong-gyu, Vice Chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, expressed his appreciation, saying, “It is truly admirable that the Church of God shares in the pain of the citizens and serves them with such dedication.”
