On April 10, the members from the Church of God in Pagadian, the Philippines, planted 1,000 mangrove trees in the coastal area of Tawagan Sur. The Environmental Department Manager of the Pagadian Municipality participated in the volunteer service, encouraging the members and assisting in environmental protection efforts.
Mangroves grow on the coastal margins, where land meets water and are regarded as one of the blue carbon (carbon absorbed by the marine ecosystem) reservoirs due to their excellent carbon storage capacity.
