ASEZ STAR ‘Filial Piety and Gratitude’ Campaign for Family Month 2023

The members of ASEZ STAR, the Church of God Student Volunteer Group, reflected on the grace of their parents and their teachers, and expressed gratitude together with their friends through the Filial Piety and Gratitude Campaign for the month of May.

Under the slogan, “Love You, Thank You, and Be With You,” and “Thank You, Teacher,” the students wrote letters to their parents and their teachers, expressing their sincere hearts. The students introduced the campaign to their friends and encouraged them to join in it. Lim Ki-hyeon (from Suwon) said, “I shared the paper for letter with my friend. She thanked me, saying that she didn’t even think about writing a letter.” Nam Bo-hyeon (from Daejeon) said, “Contrary to my expectations, many of my friends said they would like to join, so I ran out of my letter paper.”

The parents and the teachers who received the students’ heartfelt handwritten letters shared how they felt. Lim Su-min (from Hwaseong) said, “My principal was greatly moved by my letter. I was happy when I received the text, ‘Thank You,’ from him.” Lee Jin-won (from Incheon) said, “When I wrote a letter to my teachers, one of them said it was her first time to receive a gift on Teacher’s Day. She was so moved and even teared up.”

ASEZ Star is an international volunteer group consisting of Church of God students from all over the world. The group name contains the meaning of “Save the Earth from A to Z” and “Students Take Action Right now.” They are active in the five keywords: Love Parents, Love Friends, Love Neighbors, Love School, and Love Earth. Thus, they strive to do good deeds both inside and outside of their schools.
