To share the blessings of the Passover and the love of Christ, the Church of God in the Southwestern Region of the United States held the “Passover Orchestra Concert” on March 19. Church members belonging to the Southwestern Region, such as San Diego and Escondido in California, united to prepare the event. The event was held at the Riverside Church, and about 400 people, including the church members and their neighbors, attended the event.
After the conductor’s greeting, the event began with the joint performance of the orchestra and the choir consisting of the Southwestern Region [SWR] members. The orchestra consisting of 40 members and the choir consisting of 52 members delivered the meaning of the New Covenant Passover and the love of God by performing a total of nine songs, including the Church of God’s New Songs, “The New Covenant Established by Sacrifice,” and “Let Us Save the Whole World.” After the concert, the performers shouted “We love you” altogether toward the audience, hoping that God’s blessing would be bestowed upon all the audience.
Ricardo Segura, who attended the concert, said, “While watching the performances, I felt many kinds of emotions. I admired those who prepared the concert for others. I had a great time.” Alan Gonzalez-Ramirez said, “Everyone was so welcoming and I felt as if I was at home.” He gave thanks to the members who invited him to the event.
The Southwestern Region of the United States has interacted with neighbors through the Happy Webinars and orchestra concerts. In January 2022, the San Diego Church held the “Zion Evening Concert by Student Group” which was led by students, and moved the hearts of not only the student members’ friends, but also of their parents and neighbors.
On top of this event, the Southwestern Region of the United States received a number of awards, including the Certificates of Appreciation from the Mayors of Bakersfield and Santee in recognition of various activities for the local community. Moreover, the Mayor of San Diego proclaimed November 21, 2015, as the “Day of the World Mission Society Church of God” through the declaration.
