Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, a cold wave and heavy snowfall swept across the country. Members of the Church of God, hoping to bring warmth and joy to neighbors facing economic hardship, donated blankets to around 240 public institutions nationwide, including administrative welfare centers and local government offices. Between January 15 and 24, approximately 5,800 microfiber blankets (worth 250 million KRW) were donated and will be distributed to youth-headed households, people with disabilities, elderly living alone, and multicultural families.

Officials from public institutions expressed their gratitude to the Church of God for its annual donations of various goods to neighbors. Taebaek City Mayor Lee Sang-ho, who welcomed the members, said, “The Church of God’s consistent and selfless efforts each year bring great comfort to those in need.” An official from Dalseo District Office in Daegu remarked, “The donation of blankets during this cold winter will be a tremendous support to those in heating-vulnerable communities.”

Members who personally delivered blankets, ranging from 20 to 70 pieces, to public institutions wore bright smiles. Kim Mina from Cheonan expressed, “I hope our neighbors will experience a heartwarming holiday, like a mother’s embrace, during this cold season, both physically and spiritually.”
