On March 26, when spring finally came, the 4th student webinar was held at the Church of God in Moran, Seongnam, Korea. This event was designed to convey the sincerity of the student members in order to share God’s blessings with their precious friends and family. More than 5,100 people participated in the event through YouTube Webinar live throughout the country. About 700 people attended it at the site, including students and their friends and parents, and the student group guidance teachers living in the metropolitan area.
Before the event began, the audience lined up at the side event hall on the third floor of the church. Various activities were prepared: the panel exhibition that introduces the Church of God and the activities of the student group, the photo zone that captures the moment of memories, and the calligraphy booth where you can write cheering phrases with pretty illustrations. The students laughed, taking photos with their friends and holding cards with the phrases, “You are the light,” “I support your future,” “You did a good job today,” and “The important thing is not to give up.”
The webinar started around 1 p.m. In the first program, S-Talk [Student’s Talk], the student actors aroused curiosity about the Passover filled with God’s blessing through a witty skit.
In the following seminar, three student presenters appeared in turn and explained in-depth the blessing and value of the Passover that appeared in the history of the Bible. Comparing the Passover to a streak of light, the presenters explained the Passover that saved the Israelites from the plague of the firstborn in Egypt 3,500 years ago as the first light, and the Passover that protected Judah ruled by King Hezekiah from the Assyrian invasion in the eighth century B.C. as the second light. They emphasized that the Passover is the light of hope, saving mankind who is anxious about the uncertain future. Lastly, they delivered the message that there is a hopeful future to those who remember the history of the Bible and keep the Passover, which is the light of salvation, just as the saying goes, “A nation that forgets its past has no future.”
One of the presenters, Cho Won-jeong from Ansan, said, “I wanted to convey the value of the Passover and the love of God. I thought it would be more touching if I explained it with the history in the days of Hezekiah.”
Lee Anna from Seongnam said, “I came here by the invitation of my new friend during the new semester. I’m thankful for her to invite me to this good event. I would like to come to the next event, too.” Choi Mi-so from Gwangju, who attended the event with her friend, said, “I invited my friend to receive blessings together. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents were very worried about our health and relationship with friends, but I hope there will be only good things going on from now on.”
The student group of the Church of God carries out various education and campaigns focusing on five keywords—Love Parents, Love Friends, Love Neighbors, Love School, and Love the Earth—so that youths will create a bright future.
