Korea
During the rainy season, discomfort index is high as it often rains in hot weather. However, the overseas members who visited Korea from all over the world looked sunny bright throughout their stay.
The 77th Overseas Visiting Group, consisting of 180 members from 39 countries, arrived in Korea before and after July 5. Most of them were university students from various countries and cultures, such as Japan, Botswana, Ecuador, and Austria. Mother warmly welcomed them with love, saying, “Thank you for coming to this far-off country.” Actually, depending on the flight, it even took two days for some members to come to Korea. After eagerly waiting for this moment, the overseas members were finally embraced in Mother’s arms and poured out their tears of gratitude, love, and longing that they had built up.
“I’m majoring in Korean language because I’m interested in Korean culture. Before receiving the truth, I visited Korea to learn the language, but this time, I’ve come to feel the love of Second Coming Christ and Heavenly Mother.” Vache Josephine from Paris, France
“Summer in Korea is like a sauna. But I still love being here! After seeing Mother, my heart is full of joy as if I became an apostle who received Jesus 2,000 years ago.” Andrea Cruz from Puebla, Mexico
Mother took great care of the members, seeing if there were any inconveniences caused by different environment, food, and bed. In the love of Mother, the members attended various events, including the “Worldwide University Student Leadership Conference 2023.” As Christ Ahnsahnghong said, “The thing young adults need is faith,” they built up faith by diligently studying the words of truth and practicing preaching to each other. They also visited the Church of God History Museum to realize the love of Father who paved the path to salvation for all mankind by restoring the new covenant through His sacrifice. On the Sabbath day, they visited the church in Nakseom (now Jung-gu), Incheon, where Christ Ahnsahnghong was baptized, and the church in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, where Mother cultivated the gospel field. By doing so, they traced the footsteps of Father and Mother who had walked before them in difficult times. They also enjoyed the beauty of nature created by God Elohim at the Elohim Training Institute, and fell in love with Korean culture by visiting the Lotte World Folklore Museum, Bukchon Hanok Village (traditional Korean house village), and Seoul Sky Observatory. The schedule was well-organized to fulfill Mother’s word, “It is time to learn from each other and grow together.”
The young adult members were lively and active, even though their busy schedules continued every day. Even when two or three members got together, they chatted with each other and sang the New Songs, strengthening their fellowship. The overseas members, who were full of confidence in the truth and love for God, became a good example for the Korean members.
On the last day of the visit, when they were asked what impressed them the most, many of them answered that every moment was special and happy as if they prepared the answer together. They were filled with emotion, unable to take their eyes off the photos taken in various places. Instead of saying goodbye and being sad before departure, they showed the spirit of young prophets like the dew of the dawn, being determined to “bear abundant gospel fruit and stand before Mother again as gospel workers of the new covenant, embracing Father’s spirit of the gospel and Mother’s love,”.
