On June 22, as the rainy season had just begun, an event was held to ease the fatigue of daily life and fill hearts with inspiration. It was the 33rd “Seminar for Workers,” hosted by the Church of God. About 800 people, including members from the Gyeonggi and Incheon areas and their acquaintances, gathered at the Church in Nakseom, Incheon. Additionally, more than 6,500 people participated nationwide through a YouTube live broadcast.

On the first floor of the church, the “Family Love Campaign 2025” was held as a side event. Attendees viewed panels with questions related to their parents, pondering deeply to gauge their emotional closeness with them. Some responded with serious expressions to questions such as, “When do you think of your family?” Participants also created memories by taking photos together in the photo zone while wearing unique props and by selecting encouraging message postcards at the calligraphy corner.

The event began around 1 p.m. with a concert as the opening program. The chamber orchestra delivered a beautiful performance featuring harmonious melodies, including the Church of God’s New Song, “Today, I Go to Zion,” and a medley from the movie La La Land. This was followed by a mixed vocal ensemble singing pieces such as the fusion Korean traditional music piece “Beautiful Country.” Each performance concluded with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience.

During the “Empathy Talk” session, four guests—each representing the role of a parent or sibling—took the stage to share personal stories about family, including memorable parenting experiences. As they exchanged their thoughts, they reflected on the meaning of family in today’s world. Their candid yet lighthearted conversations revealed an enduring truth: Although family members may sometimes wear each other out, they remain an irreplaceable source of strength and unwavering support in life. One guest struck a particularly deep chord with the audience, saying, “Now that I’m working, I truly understand the effort my parents put into both their jobs and raising a family. They’ve become my role models.”

In the final segment—the Bible seminar, four speakers gave presentations on the theme “What Family Means to Me.” Using the Bible as their foundation, they introduced the existence of God the Father and God the Mother, as well as the blessing of becoming God’s children through the Passover.

The presenters concluded their talks with the heartfelt hope that everyone in attendance would receive eternal love, comfort, and peace of mind from God.

From young professionals just starting out, like a “daughter,” to those nearing retirement, like a “father,” attendees, regardless of age, found themselves laughing and crying as they connected with the theme of family.

Baek Tae-won, who attended at the invitation of a friend, shared, “Like the story about a dad in the Empathy Talk, just hearing my son say ‘I love you’ gives me the strength to overcome anything. It’s deeply moving to learn that there’s also a heavenly family that gives us strength.”

Choi Soo-min, a church member, said, “When I open up to my younger sister about the challenges of work, she comforts me like an older sister would. Looking back through this seminar, I’ve realized that my family is the most precious support in my life. It was a heartwarming time that gave me the strength to overcome even the ‘Monday blues.’”

Jeong Dong-jun, Vice Chairman of the Central District Council in Incheon, remarked, “I believe this event will play a significant role in rekindling the importance of family love in our society. It has accomplished something that even public institutions should be doing,” expressing his gratitude.
