On March 2, ahead of the new semester, the “University Students Academic Year Opening Worship 2026” was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. About 9,000 people attended, including university students, parents, young adult group teachers, and pastoral staff.
In the first part of the worship, Mother offered a prayer of blessing for the students, asking that they receive the wisdom, faith, and various gifts of the Holy Spirit needed to pursue their dreams. Encouraging those who had spent their vacation meaningfully through missionary work and volunteer service, She said, “If you plan anything with faith, Almighty Father will accomplish it for you. As the youth like the dew of dawn and figures of prophecy, let us lead the world with hope with firm faith.”
General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol delivered a message highlighting the limitless potential of young people and urging them to dream boldly. He said, “I hope you overcome fear and hesitation about an uncertain future and spend your once-in-a-lifetime youth meaningfully,” and added, “Rely on God, who always leads you on the right path, and fully demonstrate the abilities within each of you” (Mt 28:18–20; Ps 110:1–3; Isa 41:10–11).
The second part featured an awards ceremony, where a total of 53 individuals were recognized. Recipients included students with outstanding academic performance in IUBA (International University Student Bible Academy) and those who demonstrated excellence in ASEZ (the Church of God University Student Volunteer Group). Mother personally presented the awards and commended their exemplary dedication.
The third part included video screenings and case presentations. As university years often bring many possible paths for the future, inspiring examples of students around the world were shared, showing how they discerned meaningful choices and pursued their goals. Attendees were particularly moved by stories of students who went beyond the limits of campus life, achieving excellence not only in academics but also in missionary work and volunteer service. Notably, cases were introduced in which ASEZ, through its active environmental initiatives, was officially invited to meetings of UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), and was appointed as an official EU European Climate Pact Ambassador. These achievements inspired a strong sense of vision and responsibility toward the global stage.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from the university students to follow the path walked by God and to share God’s good teachings and love throughout campuses worldwide. Mother once again congratulated the students and encouraged them, saying, “Entering university will be an opportunity for you to grow further. Since Father has given you many blessings, I hope you accomplish everything you desire during your university years.”
Kim A-ryeong, a second-year student at Kyungpook National University, shared, “There were times when I worried because I did not have a clear standard to know if I was on the right path. But thanks to IUBA seniors who guided me, I was able to spend a truly meaningful year. I hope to become such an example to my juniors.” Ha Da-hyeon, a freshman at Joongbu University, said, “I had not yet decided on a clear career path, so the future felt uncertain. But after attending today’s event and hearing that our potential has no limits, I gained confidence. I will do my best in everything.”
Parent Hong Sang-hui from Busan remarked, “As a father, I feel proud to see my daughter shaping her life as a university student. It is also having a positive influence on our family. When she enters society and faces many crossroads, I hope she will take on challenges boldly with faith, just as we heard today.”
