God called His people to be witnesses to testify to His name for the work of salvation in each age—as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit respectively. In the age of the Father, God chose His people to become Jehovah’s witnesses and in the age of the Son to become Jesus’ witnesses, and in the age of the Holy Spirit God has called us to be witnesses of the Spirit and the Bride, who give the water of life to human beings in this age (Isa 43:10; Ac 1:8; Rev 22:17).
The reason why God has chosen us to be His witnesses is because He wants us to display God’s glory among all nations of the world by testifying to God, who is righteous, with the words of the Bible which we have heard and seen, so that all people will know God and believe in Him and realize that He is the Savior (Isa 43:8-12).
In court, the testimony of a witness is crucial enough to directly influence the judicial decision. According to a single word he or she says, the truth may be concealed or revealed; the accused can be labeled a sinner or be found innocent and released. A witness is a person who plays such an important role. By paying attention to the will of God who has called us to be His witnesses, we, all the people of Zion, should faithfully perform our mission as God’s witnesses.
Testimony of a son who proved the innocence of his parents
One night, a terrible thing occurred on a street; some robbers assaulted a person, and then they killed him. They left the person to die and ran away. Just then a family passing by happened to see what had happened. The father ran to the spot to help the person who was on the ground. His wife was beside him, and their children were also witnesses to it.
At that moment, a patrol car that was passing through the neighborhood approached them after seeing the scene where a person was on the ground and someone was lifting him up in his arms. Since the policeman saw it from a distance, he misunderstood the situation and thought that the whole family took part in the crime and brought the couple to the police station, and let their children go.
At the police station, the couple told the police over and over again that they were not the criminals, but the police did not believe what the couple were saying and told them to furnish proof of their innocence. When the police asked the couple if they had any witnesses to prove their innocence, they said their children also observed it all and they were their witnesses, and called their children to the police station. However, their children just hesitated and did not open their mouths easily because they were afraid that they might be subjected to reprisals by the robbers if they said anything, and also because they were worried that their parents might be charged with a more serious crime if they failed to make a consistent statement.
Finally, the case was brought to trial. In court, the couple selected their eldest son as the last witness because he was a bit more courageous and reliable than their other children who were scared and could not speak well. So the eldest son took the witness stand. Now, if the son did not tell the truth, his parents would be charged with murder and end up in prison.
According to a single word from the eldest son, his parents could be acquitted or charged with murder. In this urgent situation, the son was still just trembling with fear at the thought that since he witnessed the robbers killing the person with his own eyes, such a terrible thing might happen to him as well. His parents were also very anxious to see their son hesitating to tell the truth because of fear.
In the meantime, the son thought that if he just kept silent, his parents would be treated as grave sinners. So he made up his mind firmly and took courage, and began to tell everything he had seen that day. He made detailed statements about how the criminals had killed the passerby, what they looked like and what they were wearing. His testimony was adopted in court, and after an investigation among ex-convicts who matched the description of the robbers, the real criminals were finally found. Because of his definitive testimony, the criminals were arrested and all the problems were solved. His parents, who might have been falsely charged with murder, were proven innocent and released.
God’s people chosen as His witnesses
Like the son who acted as a witness in court, we are called as God’s witnesses. When Jesus ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives, He told His disciples to be His witnesses in Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”Ac 1:6-8
A witness is a person whose duty is to discover the truth by making a true statement about what he or she saw and heard. As God’s witnesses, we must open our mouths and confidently testify to the fact that our Heavenly Father and Mother are the true Gods.
Since God trusts us the most among 6.7 billion people in the world, He has called us as His witnesses, hasn’t He? No one calls a person who is likely to testify against him or her as a witness. God has called us to this important position as His witnesses. This shows how much He trusts us.
For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.1 Th 2:3-4
God has entrusted us with the mission of preaching the gospel because He approved us. He believed that if He called His sons and daughters as His witnesses, they would surely go to Samaria and even to the ends of the earth and would clearly testify to Him. That is why God has chosen us as His witnesses and let us take the witness stand. “This is God our Mother who has come to this earth,” “This is God our Father who has come to this earth.” When we clearly testify to Elohim before all people like that, we can truly please God who has chosen us to be His witnesses.
Definite and confident testimony of witnesses
Those who are not witnesses cannot distinguish between the truth and falsehood until they listen to the correct testimony. We observed the truth and have been called to be witnesses to the truth. So through the Bible we must correctly testify to the fact that God has come to this earth in the flesh and that there are not only God the Father but also God the Mother.
Since God has regarded us as trustworthy and called us as His witnesses, we must not hesitate to testify to God the Father and God the Mother. Those who fear and hesitate are not worthy to be God’s witnesses.
What results would have been brought about if the son in the aforesaid story had not said anything but remained silent till the end? Even though he had been selected as a witness according to the will of his father and mother, if he had just hesitated and kept silent because of fear or because of his introspective personality, all the people in court would have misunderstood his parents as bad people and pointed their fingers at them, wouldn’t they? In the same way, if we do not testify to our Father and Mother but just keep silent, They will be ridiculed and despised by the people of the world. While we remain silent without testifying to Father and Mother, They are severely misunderstood.
Like the son in the story, we must take heart and clear Father and Mother of all the false charges against Them. The gospel of God is absolutely true and perfect. So we must not become cowardly when we testify to the gospel as if it were false. What if a witness in court stammers when a prosecuting attorney or a lawyer asks him or her a question or fails to provide a logical and consistent testimony? Even though the witness tells the truth, the judge may misunderstand that he or she gives false testimony against the defendant.
Courage comes from confidence. The words of a reliable witness have power. Let us all become the reliable witnesses for God, not those who get Him in trouble, so that we will go to Samaria and to the ends of the earth and clearly testify to God and to the gospel. God wants us to boldly testify to everything we have seen, heard and learned from Him, without hesitation. When we do so, the world will know God correctly.
If we do not testify to Heavenly Father and Mother well and do not confidently preach the truth which Father and Mother have taught us for our salvation, we will be ashamed to be called God’s witnesses or children. Now let us not just listen to what others preach, but testify to God the Father and God the Mother boldly before everyone, as the true witnesses of God.
Woe to those who do not testify to God
Heavenly Father and Mother are the true Gods. Nevertheless, if we do not testify to this fact, we are no different than the witnesses who must tell the truth but just remain silent on the witness stand. God rebukes such people.
Come, all you beasts of the field, come and devour, all you beasts of the forest! Israel’s watchmen are blind, they all lack knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they lie around and dream, they love to sleep. They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, each seeks his own gain. “Come,” each one cries, “let me get wine! Let us drink our fill of beer! And tomorrow will be like today, or even far better.”Isa 56:9-12
If a house dog barks, the owner can easily know that there is a stranger outside. However, if the dog does not bark even though a thief breaks into the house, it is useless to the owner. The book of Isaiah likens the prophets who do not correctly testify to the word of God to “mute dogs.”
The duty of a watchman is to shout, and the duty of a witness is to testify. Nevertheless, if one does not shout the will of God or testify to it but just lives in idleness, he can never please God. The Bible says woe to such a person.
Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.1 Co 9:16-17
Each of us has been entrusted with the duty of a witness to testify to God. Since we are God’s witnesses, we are compelled to preach the gospel.
Witnesses take the stand to testify. Although they are on the witness stand, if they do not open their mouths but just pursue idleness in life, loving to sleep and getting drunk on beer, it will cause great anxiety to God who has called them as His witnesses. So the Apostle Paul said, “I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.”
Witnesses who testify to Elohim
People in the world do not yet know Elohim our Father and Mother correctly. Unless we testify to Elohim, they will not be able to know the Bible or the power of God and will remain shrouded in misunderstanding and distrust (Mt 22:29).
There are not only God the Father but also God the Mother (Mt 6:9; Gal 4:26). We can be saved only when we believe in God the Father and God the Mother as well, who gave birth to our souls (Ge 1:26-27; Rev 22:17). Just in the Old Testament, to say nothing of the New Testament, we can find over 2,500 records about Elohim. Since the Bible testifies to Elohim not only in a few places but in over 2,500 places, how can it be a forced interpretation?
We, who know all this fact well, must testify to Elohim clearly and boldly. The truth we have is absolute and perfect. If we just preach, everybody will listen to us. Now the kingdom of heaven is very near, and the time has come when many people open their minds and repent if we preach the word of God. The Bible backs up all our testimonies, and God always renews our strength through the Holy Spirit.
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.2 Ti 4:1-5
The work of an evangelist which God has entrusted to us is the duty of a witness. Giving us this important duty, God told us to perform the duty, being prepared in season and out of season. As true witnesses, we should testify to God the Father and God the Mother as well and should also let people know about the commandments that God the Father and God the Mother have given us for the salvation of all mankind. If we do that, Elohim will fill us with Their overflowing grace and blessings every day.
We must carry out the mission of God’s witnesses not only in our own country but also in all other countries of the world in Asia, Africa, Oceania, South America, North America, and Europe. Let us all perform our mission as God’s witnesses faithfully, so that each and every one of us can bear ten fruits. If you want more, please ask Father and Mother for more blessings and achieve the blessings of a hundred talents and even a thousand talents. Since Elohim said, “Be My witnesses in Samaria and to the ends of the earth,” let us fulfill the mission of God’s witnesses by diligently preaching God the Father and God the Mother to all nations of the world.
