A Conversation Between Two Elderly Women

An elderly woman with huge baggage got on the subway. Just in time, there was an empty seat in the senior citizen’s area, so she put down her baggage and sat down. Then, another elderly woman of a similar age talked to her,

“Why do you have such huge baggage?”

“While making water kimchi, I was reminded of my daughter, who likes it, so I’m bringing it to her. Since I was visiting her anyways, I started looking for stuff to give her. I packed many things, so my baggage became this large.”

“Then, you should have shipped it to her, taken a taxi, or told your daughter to come to get it. Why are you going through such trouble?”

“I didn’t want to worry about spilling water kimchi while shipping it to her. Also, taking a taxi is too expensive. I felt bad about asking my daughter, who is busy raising her children, to come and take it . . .”

“Oh my, now that your children are all grown up, you must consider your health. Who’s going to take care of you now? Even though you go through so much like this, would they even acknowledge your effort and appreciate you? Since you’ve raised them with all your strength, you deserve to ask them to serve you!”

“Haha. So, that’s how you act toward your children?”

The elderly woman who scolded the other lady couldn’t answer this question but just laughed.
