There was a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. Meanwhile, she heard about Jesus.
When Jesus was passing, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, because she thought, ‘If I just touch His clothes, I’ll be healed.’
Jesus turned around in the crowd and asked,
“Who touched My clothes?”
His disciples did not know why He asked that.
But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman came and fell at His feet and, trembling with fear, told Him the whole truth.
Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Among the people crowding against Jesus, it was not only the woman who touched His cloak. However, it was only the woman who heard the words of salvation. It was because she believed that she would receive salvation if she only touched the cloak of the man who is God.
Even if we come toward God a hundred times or a thousand times with something that we eagerly desire, if we do it without faith, no work of salvation will occur.
‘Why does He not answer my prayer?’
The solution is not far from us.
The earnest prayer that we offer with faith brings forth a miracle.
