The Israelites set out from the Desert of Sin and camped at Rephidim, where the Amalekites came and attacked them. Before the battle, Moses said to Joshua,

“Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”

So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill.

The victory depended on Moses’ hands. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but when he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired as he held up his hands for a long time, Aaron and Hur took a stone and let Moses sit on it. Standing on each side of Moses, Aaron and Hur held Moses’ hands up.

As Moses’ hands remained steady till sunset, Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Until the Israelites won the victory, Moses sacrificed himself, holding his hands up until sunset. Moses represents Jesus who led God’s people to the victory at the battle against Satan through His sacrifice on the cross. Underneath the salvation we received, there is the sacrifice of Christ who suffered to the point of death for the spiritual victory of His children.

Even in this age, God’s hands remain steady. Heavenly Mother prays earnestly until the eternal victory is granted to the heavenly children who are at the fierce battle against evil spirits. Her prayers with tears continue without rest, even now, right at this moment.
