It has been a couple of years since everyone was under the cloud of worry due to COVID-19. Despite people’s efforts to stop this unheard-of virus, it has spread throughout the world. As a result, our daily lives has stopped in an instant, and various fields of industry, including national economies, culture, and the arts, have fallen into recession for a long time. In this situation where it is impossible to see the future, many people are confused and have lost their direction and purpose in life.
When people are lost and wandering aimlessly, what is needed the most? Those who are wandering need the word of God. Through the teachings of the Bible, let us find out that the way to heaven is to obey God’s word and come to God the Father and God the Mother, who have come to this earth according to the prophecies.
Suppose you are on a boat in the open sea where you can see nothing but blue waves in all directions. No matter how much you sail, there is only an endless ocean, and you don’t know where to go to get to land or how to get your destination. What would you need most in this situation? Or, imagine that you are in the middle of a jungle where all kinds of trees and vines are entangled. In the woods, no matter where you turn, everything looks so similar. Again, in this case, what do you need the most when you don’t know where you are? What if you are put on a barren desert where there is no grass? Although walking day after day, you feel like you are hovering around in the same desert. Whom would you look for?
Of course, you first need to look for God, the Savior. And if you think about earthly tool you would need, a compass would help you find your desired direction.
Just as a compass is the most essential tool for those who are lost, people desperately need a spiritual compass to guide them in the right direction of their spiritual lives.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Ps 119:105
The writer of the book of Psalms said that when it was dark and the road was not visible, God’s word led him to the right path. Even when we are in a confusing environment where we cannot distinguish between right and left, God’s word becomes a lamp for our path. God’s word serves as a spiritual compass that guides us to the kingdom of heaven where we want to go.
“Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.” Rev 3:10
God has said that there will be the hour of trial to test all people of the world. According to these words of prophecy, the unprecedented disaster of COVID-19 has stricken the whole world, revealing how firm the faith of each one is. There are many people who are discouraged, thinking that they’ve spent time without doing anything of significance during the pandemic; and there are people who have lost their direction in life. Even in this situation, the way for us to go to heaven is to follow the right direction of faith by keeping God’s word with patience.
When you get lost, a compass will be of great help for you to get to your destination, giving you peace of mind. Likewise, God’s word becomes a spiritual compass, guiding us in the right direction and giving us true comfort. That is why the Bible teaches not to despise God’s word and neither to add to nor subtract from it.
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. Rev 22:18–19
If you insert or remove some parts from a compass as you please, it will inevitably break down. In order for God’s word, the spiritual compass, to function as a guide to salvation, those who listen to God’s word must obey the word without adding to or subtracting anything from it. Jesus taught His disciples that in order to enter the kingdom of heaven, they must not go in the wrong direction, straying from God’s word.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Mt 7:21
Jesus said that only those who do the will of God who in heaven, can enter the kingdom of heaven. The Bible is a book that contains the will of God. Following the will of God is following the words of the Bible without adding to or subtracting anything from it; because that is the way God’s people can reach their destination, heaven, without losing their direction.
In fact, even though a person disobeys God’s word, it has no effect on God, who is the Most Holy. If you sin, how does it affect God? If you are righteous, what do you give to Him? (Job 35:6–8) According to whether we obey God’s word or not, it is determined whether we follow the way of life or the way of death; our salvation is decided. Since God has told us to keep His laws to lead us to the way of life, we should always abide in God’s word and follow His teachings without adding or subtracting.
If you are lost, you will be disturbed by many thoughts as to whether you are going in the right direction or just lingering in one place. You will feel frustrated and distressed. You cannot have any peace of mind.
Spiritually, too, many people are in the same situation. While living a life of faith, we sometimes ask ourselves, “Will I be able to enter the eternal kingdom of heaven by living a life of faith in this way?” or “Am I not just walking in circles?” When we do not know whether or not we are walking on the right path, we must find the direction God gives us through the words of the Bible.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Rev 22:17
The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” In other words, They are saying, “Do not go in any other direction, but come to Me. I am the path you are looking for.”
When we feel frustrated and tired as if we were lost, let’s look to Heavenly Father and Mother. If we follow the Spirit and the Bride, we can safely arrive in heaven, the final destination of our life of faith. The Bible tells us to take the Spirit and the Bride as indicators of our faith and follow Their guidance to receive the water of life, and also emphasizes that we must never add to or subtract from God’s words.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” . . . Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Jn 14:1–6
The reason we should go to God is because God is the way we seek. In order to enter the eternal kingdom of heaven, we must come to Christ, who is God born in the flesh on this earth. In the Age of the Son, Jesus Christ was the way, and in the Age of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit and the Bride are the way. There is no other way to heaven except through Christ.
How did Apostle Peter find the way in the vast open sea? How did Apostle John find the way, and how did Apostle Paul find the way? We can find the answer in the teachings of the Bible. When they got lost, their only way was to obey Christ’s word, “Come to Me.” The apostles absolutely believed that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. Their eyes were always on Christ. Those who have this kind of faith can find the way to heaven and enter the eternal rest.
Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, “If you knew who I am, you would have asked me for living water” (Jn 4:10). As we are living in the Age of the Holy Spirit, we should recognize the Spirit and the Bride, our Saviors, and ask Them for the water of life. When we hear the voices of God the Father who is the Spirit, and New Jerusalem Mother who is the Bride, and follow Them wherever They lead us, it is the way to return home without getting lost in the vast ocean of this world.
Today, many people are in distress, going through hardships, just as the Bible prophesied. In this age, too, God is our way, and His word is our guide.
No matter how difficult the circumstances may be, we must never lose our way to heaven. Let us all take the right direction without turning left or right from the word of God, and advance toward heaven as heavenly children.
Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Selah Ps 24:3–6
Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? The book of Revelation records that there are saints who stood with the Lamb on Mount Zion, the holy mountain of God (Rev 14:1–5). Zion is the church that keeps the feasts of God (Isa 33:20–24). Those who come to Zion, where Father and Mother dwell, never get lost. It is because they always look to Heavenly Father and Mother, following the right path as They lead.
On the other hand, those who do not have the faith to follow the Lamb wherever He goes, are lost and eventually wander off. They run from sea to sea in search of the way to heaven, but in the end they fail to find the way (Am 8:11–13).
The people standing on Mount Zion do not lift up their souls to any idols. Having hope for the kingdom of heaven where there will be no more death or mourning but full of eternal life, happiness, and glory, they think of what pleases God and what they will be rewarded in heaven. They only focus on following the voice of the Spirit and the Bride.
God said that He would test all the people who live on the earth. Just as the person who passes an entrance exam enters a certain school or gets the job he wants, the person who passes the test that comes upon the whole world will enter heaven.
Brothers and sisters in Zion! You have been doing a good job until now, following the path of faith as Father and Mother lead you. I hope you will finish all the way to the eternal kingdom of heaven, without going astray from the path of grace. We clearly know the path to heaven and are walking on it. Until we enter the kingdom of heaven, let us always seek God and examine ourselves to see if our hearts and minds are headed for the direction that pleases God, and if we treasure the voice of God.
We should always turn our eyes to God Elohim. Only then can we follow the direction Heavenly Father and Mother tell us to follow. Let us not foolishly miss the way to heaven while looking in the wrong direction, but always look at Father and Mother and follow Their guidance.
No matter what changes and temptations there are in the world, we are happy; because we have Father and Mother, and we belong to the kingdom of heaven, and we have received the promise of an eternal and brilliant future. I hope all of you keep this joy in your heart and become heavenly priests who receive the crown of life God promised.
Please remember how various figures in the Bible overcame difficulties and trials. What kind of mindset did Noah and Abraham have? How did Joseph get over the unfair situation he was in? How did Daniel overcome his problem? What path of faith of life did Peter, John, and James, who received Jesus, walk? And what about the early Church saints who were tortured and refused to be released? Let us learn what kind of faith they had, and take any situation of temptation as an opportunity for our faith to grow. We must shake off all the vain and meaningless things of the world from within us, and remember the teachings of the Bible, taking the word of God as a lamp.
If we only look at one side of a situation, we feel at a loss. It is just like small sailing ships drifting in the great sea. No one knows the way. However, God said, “I am the way; seek Me.” To seek God is to find the way. Seeking our spiritual Father and the Mother is the key to finding the way to heaven.
In this age, we have found the way to heaven, because we have received Father Ahnsahnghong and New Jerusalem Heavenly Mother, who came to this earth as the Spirit and the Bride. I hope that all of our Zion members will follow the path to the eternal heavenly home until the end wherever Father and Mother lead us.
