The Church of God in Lima, Peru, Donates Supplies to the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion
On August 8, the Church of God in Lima, Peru, donated clothing and blankets to the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion in order to help vulnerable groups. Collected by church members in the Lima area throughout the month of July, the supplies included approximately 3,700 pieces of clothing, 230 pairs of shoes, and 60 blankets. The Ministry announced that these items would be distributed to 150 households, including single-parent families, in the Pamplona Alta residential complex through a soup kitchen in San Juan de Miraflores. ASEZ WAO Kuching Chapter in Malaysia Cleans Batu Kawah Riverbank Park
On July 30, members of the Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group [ASEZ WAO] from the Kuching chapter in Malaysia carried out a cleanup at the Batu Kawah Riverbank Park. This park is famous for its scenic view of the Sarawak River. The cleanup was performed in cooperation with the Padawan City Council. Over 40 participants joined the activity, including chapter members, visiting Korean members, and Padawan City Councilor Tan Kai. At 10 a.m., members, wearing light green vests, equipped themselves with gloves and trash bags provided by the city council. ASEZ WAO 2nd Mexico City Branch Cleans Up Xochimilco City Hall Area
On July 30, members of ASEZ WAO (Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group) 2nd Mexico City Branch, cleaned the streets near Xochimilco City Hall. Around 30 people, including local members, Korean members who visited Mexico for international cooperation, and officials from Xochimilco City Hall, participated in the volunteer activity. On Xochimilco Street, one of the main tourist attractions in Mexico City, there was a lot of litter carelessly left by tourists. The members began the cleanup at 11 a.m. and diligently cleaned the area around Xochimilco City Hall for about two hours. ASEZ WAO Cleans Up the Bokmakierie Canal in South Africa
On July 30, members of ASEZ WAO (Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group) from South Africa conducted a cleanup activity at the Bokmakierie Canal located in Athlone, Cape Town. This activity aimed to clean up the canal to prevent sewage pollution caused by household waste, and further contribute to the preservation of the marine ecosystem. Approximately 120 participants, including ASEZ WAO members from both Korea and the local community and Athlone Ward Councillor of Cape Town, took part in this initiative. ASEZ WAO Members in Northern Luzon, Philippines, Launch “Mother’s Forest” Project
On July 30, members of ASEZ WAO (Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group) in the North Luzon region of the Philippines participated in tree planting as part of the “Mother’s Forest” project. This activity, held at Wright Park in Baguio City, involved about 100 participants, including local and Korean members, the chief and officers from the Baguio Police Station, and officials from the Baguio City Hall. 200 seedlings were provided by the Baguio City Hall. ASEZ WAO Cleans up the Reconquista River in Tigre, Argentina
On July 27, Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group [ASEZ WAO] conducted a cleanup at the Reconquista River located in Tigre City, Buenos Aires Province. As part of the ASEZ WAO’s Blue Ocean Project, the volunteers aimed to improve water quality by picking up trash discarded in the river and on the beach, ultimately contributing to the protection of marine ecosystems. ASEZ WAO Cambodia Members Carry Out Environmental Cleanup Campaign Along the ‘Phnom Penh-Hanoi Friendship Road’
On July 26, ASEZ WAO (Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group) members in Cambodia carried out an environmental cleanup along the “Phnom Penh-Hanoi Friendship Road.” The Phnom Penh-Hanoi Friendship Road, commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Vietnam, runs through downtown Phnom Penh. ASEZ WAO, Environmental Cleanup at Tuul River in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
On July 23, the Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group [ASEZ WAO] carried out environmental cleanup around the Tuul River, Khan-Uul, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Tuul River is the main source of drinking water for Ulaanbaatar citizens, and the Mongolian government is putting significant effort into its purification. At the request of the 11th Khoroo Khan-Uul District, around 100 volunteers, including the Minister of Environment and Tourism B. Bat-Erdene and officials, as well as Korean and local ASEZ WAO members, participated in this activity. On July 23, the Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group [ASEZ WAO] members from San Francisco, California, U.S., conducted a “No More GPGP” (Reduce Plastic) cleanup near the Coyote Creek in San Jose. Dedication Worship Service for the Churches in Asan-Jangjae and Dangjin
On July 1, when the second half of 2023 began, two churches in the Chungnam Church Region held a dedication service. The church in Asan, Jangjae, and the church in Dangjin received the blessing of dedication of the new temples along with the blessing of the Sabbath. The local communities and the members of nearby churches congratulated them on the dedication of the new temples in Chungnam Province. 23rd Seminar for Workers
In the sweltering heat of summer, workers need rest and comfort, escaping from their busy daily routine. On June 25, the Church of God in Moran, Seongnam, Korea, held the “23rd Seminar for Workers,” to provide a time of comfort for workers. Approximately 680 worker members and local residents of the metropolitan area attended the seminar, and more than 5,800 people from all over the country watched the seminar, which was broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Church of God. The Churches of God in San Diego and Escondido, CA, U.S., Honored with The President’s Silver Volunteer Service Awards
On June 21, the Church of God in San Diego and in Escondido, CA, U.S., received The President's Silver Volunteer Service Award respectively. LifeStream Blood Bank recommended these two churches in recognition of their contribution to smooth blood supply through their regular blood drives. The award ceremony was held at the LifeStream Blood Bank. This is the second time the Church in San Diego received The President's Volunteer Service Award after receiving the Gold Award in 2015. Messiah Orchestra Tour Concert in Peru
In June, the Church of God Messiah Orchestra flew from Korea to Peru to hold concerts in Lima, Huancayo, and Trujillo. Forty-five Korean orchestra members held more than 20 concerts, big and small, in various places such as the National Grand Theater, the National Assembly Hall, and the Presidential Palace Plaza, together with the Philose Orchestra of the Church of God in Peru, from June 9 to 27. As the message of Mother’s love was delivered through the music which is the universal language, all the audiences were moved in local communities. ASEZ Members in Puebla, Mexico, Cheer on Sergeants Military School’s Cadet NCOs Through the Animo Campaign
On May 29, the World Mission Society Church of God University Student Volunteer Group [ASEZ] members in Puebla, Mexico, held the Animo (Cheer Up) Campaign at the Non-Commissioned Officer [NCO] Academy. The Animo Campaign is the Spanish name for ASEZ Cheer Up Campaign. This campaign aims to cheer on those who work faithfully for society and citizens, such as police officers and firefighters. It began by cheering on the medical staff who were making efforts on the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic. Churches in Suwon Support the Event for Senior Citizens in Geumgok-dong, Ipbuk-dong, Dangsu-dong
On Parents’ Day, the Church of God members in Suwon City, Korea, participated in the events for the elderly in their communities. On May 8 and 10, 110 members from the churches in Homaesil-gu, Seryu-gu, and Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, Korea, supported the events in Geumgok-dong, Ipbuk-dong, and Dangsu-dong. These events were held at Chilbo Gymnasium in Seosuwon, Gwonseon-gu, respectively, being hosted by the Geumgok-dong Heads’ Association and the Ipbuk-dong Heads’ Association. San Diego Church in CA, U.S. Carried Out Riverbed Cleanup at the Forester Creek
On April 30, members of the Church of God in San Diego, California, U.S., held an environmental cleanup at the Forester Creek in Santee. Before the Day of Pentecost, when the gift of the Holy Spirit was promised, dedication services for new temples, which would be a haven for many souls, were held in Seoul and Daejeon, Korea. On April 29, the Eungwang Church and the Jongno Church in Seoul, located in the west and east of the lower part of Bukhansan Mountain, had a dedication service each. Bitgaram Church in Naju Volunteered at the ‘3rd Yeongsangang Cup National Hangung Competition for the Visually Impaired’
About 30 members from the Bitgaram Church in Naju, Korea, volunteered for the “3rd Yeongsangang Cup National Hangung Competition for the Visually Impaired” held at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium in Naju Sports Park on April 27. This is the second time for the members to volunteer for this event, following the first one in 2019, to encourage the visually impaired to participate in sports.
