Dedication Services for the Churches in Yesan, Pyeongtaek Godeok, Incheon Dong-gu, and Incheon Songdo, Korea
The Church’s Mission to Proclaim the Savior to All Nations
Korea
Ahead of the autumn festivals, the season of abundant gospel harvest, dedication worship services were held at four Churches of God located in Yesan (South Chungcheong Province), Pyeongtaek Godeok (Gyeonggi Province), and Incheon Dong-gu and Songdo (Incheon Metropolitan City). The Yesan Church and Pyeongtaek Godeok Church held their dedication services on September 6, alongside the Sabbath worship, followed by the Incheon Dong-gu Church and Incheon Songdo Church on September 9. About 30 overseas members from North America also attended, sharing in the celebration and joy.
Heavenly Mother acknowledged the sincere efforts of the members who, despite the sweltering summer heat, devoted themselves to the mission of saving souls. She offered a prayer of blessing that every family would be filled with abundant grace and heavenly reward. Encouraging the members, She said, “Let us take pride as God’s children, preach the gospel with love and unity to please our God, and make this beautiful temple a place that gives salvation and new life to many souls.”
General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol emphasized the mission and faith of the Church, saying, “Christ Ahnsahnghong, who restored the truth of the new covenant for the salvation of humanity, is the true Christ testified in the Bible.” He reminded the members that those who have received the promise of salvation have a sacred duty to follow and proclaim the Savior with diligence and faith. Stressing that God established each church for this gospel mission, he encouraged, “Let us devote ourselves to spreading the opportunity to partake in the bread of life of the new covenant—not only within our local communities but also to people around the world.” He also prayed that through the power of the Holy Spirit, many new prophets would be raised to carry out God’s work (Mt 24:3, 32–33; Jer 24:2–8; Mt 21:18–19; Rev 3:20; 5:1–5; 22:16; Hos 3:5; Heb 9:28; Jer 31:31; Jn 6:29–57; Isa 25:6–9).
The four newly dedicated churches are located in rapidly developing areas, experiencing population growth and urban revitalization through new town construction and residential improvement projects. Members expressed hope that these new temples would become spiritual oases where local residents can learn the truth and experience warm fellowship and unity. Pastor Jorge Correa from Denver, Colorado, U.S., who attended the dedication, said, “Wherever the Church of God is established, vitality increases and the urban environment changes positively. We will do our best to swiftly deliver the good news of salvation not only throughout the United States but also to neighboring countries and continents.”
The Church of God in Yesan
The Church is a three-story building with one basement level, located in Naepo New Town, an area that encompasses Sapgyo-eup in Yesan-gun and Hongbuk-eup in Hongseong-gun. Naepo New Town has become a core administrative hub since major institutions—including the South Chungcheong Provincial Office, the Provincial Council, the Provincial Police Agency, and the Office of Education—were relocated there. Designated as Chungnam Innovation City in 2020, the region has continued to experience steady population growth.
Expressing their gospel determination, the members said, “In Yesan, the hometown of the traditional Korean folktale The Good Brothers, we will diligently practice the love we have received from God by sharing it with our neighbors.”
The Church of God in Godeok, Pyeongtaek
The Church stands in Godeok International New Town, home to the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus, the world’s largest semiconductor production complex. As global talent continues to move into the area, residential, educational, and cultural infrastructure is rapidly developing. Considering the region’s diverse demographics, including many young residents and foreign workers, members expressed their vision to “create a Zion where diversity thrives.” They are preparing various community outreach programs and volunteer activities to engage with local residents. The church building has three stories above ground and one basement level, providing a welcoming space for worship and fellowship.
The Church of God in Dong-gu, Incheon
Located in Songnim-dong, the Church of God in Dong-gu, Incheon, is a four-story building with two basement levels featuring an L-shaped design. The area has undergone significant urban renewal, with new apartment complexes, parks, and public facilities being established through residential environment improvement projects. Church members have actively participated in volunteer initiatives, particularly in areas requiring care and attention. Their ongoing efforts include cleanups around Dongincheon Station, a district known for its large floating population. In April 2024, together with the Nakseom Church in Incheon, they donated KRW 10 million (approximately USD 7,000) to the Incheon Dong-gu Office to assist residents affected by a fire in Songnim 2-dong.
The Church of God in Songdo, Incheon
Songdo International City, where the Church of God in Songdo is located, has been developed as both a free economic zone and a global marine eco city. The area features Korea’s first seawater park, and its Songdo tidal flats have been designated a Ramsar wetland, recognized internationally for their ecological importance.
The Songdo Church, a three-story building with two basement levels, stands along National Route 77, which connects directly to the Incheon Bridge, making it easily accessible to both local residents and international visitors. Working closely with other churches in the Incheon region, members take the lead in protecting the coastal environment and supporting the community through initiatives such as blood drives to help patients in urgent need.
