In the 1900s, there was a man who was dreaming of being a writer. While working various clerical and sales jobs, he wrote whenever he had time and submitted his writing to a publishing company whenever he completed one. However, every time he submitted his work, he got rejected. The number of rejection slips he got for his work was more than seven hundred. Almost all the publishing companies had received his work.
Since they didn’t have computers to write and edit easily back then, it must’ve been very hard to write that many novels even for a gifted person. However, as he continued writing stories despite repeated failures, his 744th work was accepted by a publishing company, and he finally fulfilled his dream of being a writer.
This is a story of John Creasey, an English writer. His passion didn’t cool down even after being established as a writer. He was famous for having published more than six hundred books with twenty-eight pen names until he died, and he even broke into the American publishing world. The British Crime Writers’ Association even made an honorable award after his name.
When a dream is combined with passion, it comes true someday. As long as we have passion, a failure is a stepping stone that makes us go one step closer to our dream.
