Our Zion had a street cleanup on Yulha Café Street, the main street in Jangyu, Gimhae. It is an area where a continuous cleanup is required, as there are many stores including restaurants.

Soon after we started the cleanup, the bags we had in our hands were filled with trash. It was because whenever we found some trash, we all got excited and picked it up and put it in the trash bags as if we had found some treasure.

“Here! Over here!”

Hearing the excited voices from here and there, I laughed for quite a while with a sister who was next to me, saying, “Our church members must be the only ones in the world who get excited to find trash.”

At that time, some local officials came out after receiving a report that someone had thrown away food garbage illegally. While helping them collect the garbage, we were able to display God’s glory to even more people unexpectedly.

After finishing the joyful voluntary service like a treasure hunt, we looked back and saw how clean it became around the Yulhacheon Stream. It looked shiny just like the treasure somebody had hidden.
