On June 11, the entrance ceremony for the International Worker Bible Academy [IWBA] 2023 was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. IWBA is an education system that helps young adults, who are pursuing their dreams while working at their workplace, build the right faith and pursue the right values through God’s teachings. Currently, more than 20,000 workers in and out of Korea participate in this education system.
Since the IWBA Entrance Ceremony was held in three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony hall was full of enthusiasm with more than 10,000 people: young adult workers, prospective college graduates, high school seniors who plan to find a job, young adult and student guidance teachers, and pastoral staff members. Young adult workers from 37 countries, who were participating in the Worldwide Young Adult Leadership Conference 2023, revealed how IWBA is drawing interest and participation from all around the world.
Before the start of the entrance ceremony, they participated in additional events that introduced IWBA and ASEZ WAO, to understand the importance of young adulthood.
In the first part of the opening worship service, Heavenly Mother blessed the young adult members by praying that they would become a driving force to deliver the love of God love and hope for the kingdom of heaven to all mankind and to accomplish the gospel mission in line with the prophecy of the Bible, “Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth.” Mother was delighted to see the young adults from home and abroad gathering together to build friendship and share the gospel vision together. Mother lavished them with applause, saying, “Since God said, ‘According to your faith will it be done to you,’ I hope you will fulfill all your goals and dreams through your faith in God” (Ps 110:3; Rev 22:12).
General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol said, “God manages all things in the heavens and the earth according to His will. Those who follow God’s predetermined will receive great blessings. Please do your best at your workplaces and joyfully follow the teachings of the Bible so that you may lead the souls around you to God’s salvation.”
In the second part of the ceremony, awards were given in various fields, such as the outstanding IWBA results and the ASEZ WAO excellent volunteer service church. Whenever the awardees were called out, there was a lot of applause and cheers, and 70 workers from 22 countries received the awards. Mother Herself presented the awards to the winners and encouraged them.
In the third part of the entrance ceremony, various programs such as Overseas Culture Experience Program were introduced; Work Mission [WM] results were presented; and ASEZ WAO activities were reported. IWBA students from the U.S., Mongolia, the Philippines, and Mozambique as well as Korea, came on stage as presenters and delivered news from each country vividly. The musical “God’s Signal,” which was performed in the last order, got a great response as it soulfully delivered the message that we should make an effort to follow the teachings of the Bible with faith in the prophecies given by God who promised a bright future for His people.
Mother complimented the young adult workers who were fervently preaching the gospel around the world, and encouraged them again, saying, “Let us trust God who gives strength to those who work, and follow God’s will with joy and confidence.”
Sister Joe Gyeong-jin (from Hwaseong, Korea), who will soon graduate from her college and enter a company, said, “I learn a lot from IWBA seniors in regard to what to do as a worker. Seeing the young adult workers joyfully doing work and living the life of faith, I become excited about the WM activities in the future.” Sister Nikarly (from Bronx, NY, U.S.) made her determination, saying, “It was time for me to have a clearer goal and vision for my life. By practicing the teachings of Mother’s love, I will deliver warmth to this desolate society and instill joy and hope for heaven in the people around me.”
IWBA education creates a synergy effect through various systems for young adult workers such as WM and ASEZ WAO, and helps them grow to upright and healthy members of society. IWBA workers plan to spend their young adulthood meaningfully by taking online education, gaining various experiences such as ASEZ WAO volunteer services and overseas culture experience group activities.
