The second Sunday of May is a special day in the Philippines. It is Mother’s Day when all family members gather to express love to their mother. On this day, a family event was going to be held at the Mandaluyong Zion. I wanted to invite my family to this special event.
I used to invite my family to many Zion events before, but I was rejected every time. My family didn’t like my going to church. My parents were very sad that I changed my religion without their permission. Their attitude didn’t change for a few years. When I tried to deliver the truth to them, they only listened absentmindedly and showed no interest.
I heard the news about the family event and earnestly prayed to God to allow me to lead my family to Zion. Since the event was held on Mother’s Day, I wanted to express my filial piety to my physical mother and my spiritual Mother as well.
When I was praying to God, I didn’t expect that Mother’s Day 2019 would be such a special day for me. It was because even one day before the event, only my little brother promised to come to our church. But on the day of the event, something surprising happened: It was an eye-opening experience. My mom asked me, “Can we all go to your church today?” Surprised, I didn’t know what to say.
The family event was exciting. My family enjoyed children’s dances and all other performances throughout the event, and when it was over, my mother had time to study the Bible. After a while, I heard the good news that she wanted to receive a new life. I felt so overwhelmed that I shed tears of joy.
On Mother’s Day, my mother received a new life. My wish came true. I hope she will grow in faith while keeping God’s laws together with me. I will continue to pray for the rest of my family as well.
I’ve made a resolution while leading my mother to God: I will not give up finding my lost brothers and sisters, just as I never gave up on my mother until I led her to Zion. I will surely carry out my resolution and repay Heavenly Father and Mother for Their love and grace.
