On the Frontline of Obedience and Devotion

During my school break, I took part in a three-week short-term mission trip to Accra, the capital of Ghana in West Africa. From the moment I began planning the trip, my heart was already in Accra, longing to contribute to the completion of world evangelism. However, preparing for the journey wasn’t easy. The visa I applied for at the embassy a month before departure kept getting delayed, and I had to endure days of anxiety until just one day before my flight. Thankfully, God made a way. The Ghanaian government had temporarily implemented a visa-on-arrival policy for foreigners, allowing me to receive my visa at the airport and enter the country safely.

Since the path had opened with difficulty, I believed that God would pour out great blessings, and I began walking the path of the gospel in Ghana with confidence. With over 70% of the population identifying as Christian, nearly everyone we met was interested in hearing the words of God. When asked if they wanted to go to heaven or be saved, everyone answered yes without hesitation. Their open and eager responses, something I hadn’t often experienced in Korea, made me want to share even more of the truth with them. And so, I preached the message tirelessly.

Because most Ghanaians are Christian, many people we met already had a basic understanding of the Bible. They asked numerous questions, and to our amazement, every answer they sought was written clearly in the Truth Books authored by Heavenly Father. Through this, we once again realized that Father Ahnsahnghong is truly the Root of David who unlocks the mysteries of the Bible.

From the very first day of the mission, God led us to souls who could distinguish the truth from falsehood and who obeyed God’s word without hesitation. One woman instantly recognized that the practices she had followed were human commandments without the promise of salvation. As soon as she realized this, she earnestly asked us to teach her God’s commandments. After confirming the festivals of God kept in Zion through the Bible, she joyfully received the blessing of a new life.

Another brother heard, while simply walking down the road, that Father and Mother of our spirits truly exist. With a joyful heart, he accepted God and longed to share the good news of salvation with his friends. Although he knew only one verse at the time, he opened Revelation 22:17, explained the meaning of “bride,” and testified about Heavenly Mother who gives the water of life.

We merely preached the words God commanded us to share, yet God opened the heart of each soul so that they could put the truth into practice as soon as they heard it. He strengthened their faith day by day.

The dedication of the local members was another great source of inspiration. They joyfully participated in the gospel work and prayed earnestly for the salvation of souls. When we reached our gospel goal, they rejoiced as if it were their own accomplishment and gave heartfelt thanks to God. Through them, we truly felt that we were one heavenly family united by God’s flesh and blood.

Before the mission, Ghana was a distant and unfamiliar place. But each day we spent there was filled with God’s abundant grace. We deeply felt Mother’s blessing before our departure, “You have received blessings comparable to those of Abraham.” Neither the heat and humidity over 30°C (86°F) nor the dusty unpaved roads could weaken our passion for the gospel. Instead, our hearts overflowed with the joy of preaching and the happiness of saving even one soul.

We are deeply thankful to God for allowing us to take part in the work of world evangelism rather than simply passing our vacation by. We pray to hold firmly onto every blessing and realization given through this short-term mission. Wherever we are, we will continue to devote ourselves to the gospel and strive to become the prophetic protagonists who help advance the day of the heavenly kingdom.
