Sharing Love With Neighbors in Celebration of the New Year
Donate 4,000 food packages to 200 local municipalities
South Korea
In the midst of the current situation, people may really long for love and affection from their families and neighbors. The Church of God donated 4,000 food packages to 200 public offices all over Korea to help out neighbors in need between February 4 and February 8. They also pasted a message of hope, “There are many people on your side. So let’s overcome the current crisis together,” on the wholeheartedly prepared food.
Each food package was filled with eighteen kinds of food such as canned tuna, bottles of sesame oil, pan frying powder, and convenience food like mushroom porridge, beef bone soup, beef and rice soup, and pork and kimchi stew. They will be delivered to the elderly living alone, single-parent families, multicultural families, grandparent-headed families, and the families with the disabled. Head of Welfare Center in Jungang-dong, Pohang, Lee Jun-tae said, “Thank you for providing the necessary items ahead of the holidays this year as well as last year. Your love and care greatly comfort the neighbors.” One official from a municipality in Gyeonggi Province said, “The members’ help for socially vulnerable groups is of great support like a welcome rain.” He hoped that more people would look around their underprivileged neighbors in the year.
