A Happy Seminar, ‘The Most Precious Gift, Family,’ at the Las Pinas Church in the Philippines

An event was held at the Church of God in Las Pinas, the Philippines, on December 18, 2022, to deliver a message of love and hope to community citizens who endured the hardships caused by COVID-19. The Happy Seminar titled “The Most Precious Gift, Family,” arranged by the members of the Church of God in Manila, the Philippines, left an unforgettable impression on the attendees.

As the event time approached, the church was filled with more than 600 citizens and church members in groups of families. VIPs such as government officials, attorneys, businessmen, doctors, principals, and Senator Cynthia A. Villar attended the meaningful event.

In her congratulatory address, Senator Villar expressed gratitude to the church members for their selfless volunteer services that are carried out at various places around the world, while introducing the church history to the people. Furthermore, she said, “The Church of God teaches the value of happiness and peace in families. I hope people can increase happiness and love in their families through this happy seminar.”

At 3 p.m., a sweet performance by the chamber orchestra, consisting of the members of the Quezon City Church, commenced the event. The orchestra’s beautiful melodies such as the Church of God’s New Songs “O My Dear Heavenly Home!” and “I Enter the Gates of Zion”, and the classical music “Shostakovich Waltz No. 2” wrapped the hearts of the attendees softly. The choir received applause after singing various songs such as the New Song “Indeed, How Blessed We All Are,” and a Korean song, “Beautiful Country.”

In the seminar that followed, they highlighted the love of fathers who are like the safe fences in the family, and the love of mothers who generously give everything for their children. In addition, they delivered the message that the family is the best gift of one’s life, and that the family that always gives strength is the most precious.

Romualda Villalon, Chairwoman of Barangay Pamplona dos, gave his impression, saying, “It was really impressive to see the members welcome and take care of the visitors. It felt really wonderful to be here. I, too, felt happy, hearing the members say that they are happy with the heavenly family members.” Helen Torres, who attended the event at the invitation of her nephew, said, “I empathized with the theme of the seminar, which was the love of mothers, as I am also a mother.”

Participants took commemorative photos at the additional event hall that operated before and after the event, and they wrote down their family memories and thankful moments on a memo and put it on the bulletin board, enjoying recreational activities.

The Happy Seminar, which has been successfully carried out by the Church of God throughout Korea, is scheduled to be held in various regions of the Philippines where the Church of God is located, and in many countries around the world to deliver warm love and comfort to the world citizens.
