On January 22, a group of ASEZ members from Korea journeyed to Suva, Fiji, nestled in the South Pacific Ocean, for a series of cultural exchanges and experiences, collaborating with local members of the Church of God to participate in a cleanup initiative.
Eighteen members gathered and diligently picked up plastic waste and remove rotten branches that were obstructing the passage around the Raiwaqa Police Station. The activity garnered widespread attention as it was reported nationwide on Fiji TV’s 6 PM news.
On the 28th, additional members joined the effort, totaling 30 people who conducted a coastal cleanup. Focusing their efforts on Queen Elizabeth Road in Nasese Beach, notorious for its accumulation of various types of garbage due to its large floating population, they collected waste such as tires and coconut shells over a span of about two hours. An official from the local council expressed his gratitude, saying, “Your coastal cleanup has greatly contributed to improving the environment in Fiji.”
