ASEZ WAO Members in the Incheon Area Carry Out a Cleanup at Seonnyeobawi Beach
As Part of the ‘Blue Ocean’ Project, a Panel Exhibition Was Held to Raise Awareness of the Importance of Protecting the Marine Environment
Young future leaders have stepped forward to protect the sea, the treasure trove of life. On December 17, volunteers from the World Mission Society Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group [ASEZ WAO] in Incheon area carried out environmental cleanup on Seonnyeobawi Beach as part of the “Blue Ocean” project to protect the marine ecosystem.
Approximately 320 members who gathered that day collected about 350 kg [772 lbs] of domestic waste from the area of Seonnyeobawi Beach located in Yeongjong Island, Incheon.
The members did not flinch even in freezing sub-zero weather, but also held a panel exhibition for citizens about the need to protect the marine ecosystem.
Kim Gwang-ho, Jung-gu District Councilor of Incheon Metropolitan City, who visited the site, said, “I’m sincerely grateful to the ASEZ WAO members for working hard to protect the marine environment despite the cold weather.”
