On January 4, approximately 70 members of the Church of God from Los Angeles and nearby areas such as Torrance and Riverside volunteered at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The Food Bank directly provides donated food and household items to individuals or groups facing food insecurity, and volunteers are always needed.
The members gathered at the food bank and moved the supplies donated from various places next to the rails.
Then, standing on both sides of the long rails, they carefully packed foods and necessities into boxes that came along the rails. Despite the long hours of work, the volunteers did not lose their smiles and filled the boxes with love. The items packaged that day were delivered to a total of 4,117 low-income households throughout Los Angeles.
Billy Tettimer, LA Food Bank Volunteer Coordinator, expressed gratitude, saying, “Amazingly, the Church of God members packaged over 4,000 boxes today. Thank you for coming as the first volunteers of the year.”
