On January 15, the Church of God in Riverside, CA, U.S. provided beauty services at Loma Linda Veterans Village located in San Bernardino County, CA. The Veterans Village is a residential facility for the U.S. veterans and their families, and 63 members volunteered to express their gratitude to them through the event. A total of 40 residents from 15 households received beauty services and joyfully participated in various programs prepared by the members.
The volunteer service was initiated by the recommendation of the City of Riverside, which highly evaluated the constant street cleanups carried out by the members of the Church of God. Riverside city officials provided snacks and water for the event.
The volunteers formed teams led by professional hairstylists, and provided beauty services. The participants, who had their hair styled and nails trimmed, were very happy.
Betty Volk, the Treasurer of the Veterans’ Foundation, said, “I truly appreciate the beauty services for the veterans and their families.” Ramon Patterson, who was one of the volunteers, said, “I am happy to express my gratitude to those who have kept our country safe.”
