The Churches of God in San Diego and Escondido, CA, U.S., Honored with The President’s Silver Volunteer Service Awards
Big and Small Awards in Recognition of the Churches’ Continued Volunteer Services
U.S.
On June 21, the Church of God in San Diego and in Escondido, CA, U.S., received The President’s Silver Volunteer Service Award respectively. LifeStream Blood Bank recommended these two churches in recognition of their contribution to smooth blood supply through their regular blood drives. The award ceremony was held at the LifeStream Blood Bank. This is the second time the Church in San Diego received The President’s Volunteer Service Award after receiving the Gold Award in 2015.
Prior to this award, on May 27, about 300 members from the San Diego Church received the Certificate of Appreciation from California Senator Brian W. Jones. The members carried out the environmental cleanups to beautify the community, including cleaning 1 kilometer (0.6 mi) of the Forest River and collecting 2.3 tons of waste on April 30. The Senate’s officials held the hands of the members one by one to give thanks and said, “You’re taking care of the environment to keep our community clean and to make the world a better place. We’re impressed by your enthusiasm for volunteer service.”
The members of the Church of God in California, including the Churches in Escondido and San Diego, will make more effort to deliver God’s love to communities through various volunteer activities such as environmental cleanups, blood drives, food donations, and forest cleanups.
