Grandma Moses, an American folk artist, began painting in earnest around the age of 80 and made about 1,600 pieces of artwork before dying at the age of 101. Living in the rural countryside all her life, she had never received a decent art education. However, many of her artworks containing bucolic sceneries of America were loved by many. Those who watched her lyrical and heartwarming artworks felt peace of mind.
