The Chicago Church in IL, U.S. held the Family Appreciation Day on March 17. The members prepared the event to show their appreciation, apology, and love, which they couldn’t express due to busy schedules, to their families and relatives.

With bright smiles, over a hundred invited family members viewed a family photo exhibition arranged at a corner of the event venue. Children performed cute dance routines, and the ensemble sang in beautiful harmony, pleasing the hearts of the audience.

The highlight of the event was the video letters: “I know how hard you’ve worked to raise me up,” “Dad, when I was young, I didn’t know that you worked to take care of the family. I’m sorry,” “Mom, you are the best mom. I can’t ask for more,” “My brother, thank you for always guiding me in the right path, staying with me.” The audience shed tears, watching sons and daughters, husbands and wives, and brothers and sisters expressing their love with tears. After the video letters, family members went up to the stage to say “thank you” and “I’m sorry” to one another, and reaffirmed their family ties. Rayson, the father of Sister Christina, said the event was a very special gift to him.

“In North America, when one turns eighteen, it is a custom to leave his home and live independently; then he spends less time with his family. We will continue to provide events and education to help our members strengthen their family ties and put into practice God’s love that they’ve received from God,” said Pastor Kim Gyeong-hwan, who hosted the event.
