On November 15, the dedication service of the Church of God in Jiphyeon, Sejong, was held in Sejong Special Self-Governing City. Since its launch in 2012 as an administrative-centered complex city, Sejong has experienced rapid development with the gradual relocation of major government ministries, including the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Personnel Management, as well as the expansion of industrial complexes. Along with this growth, the city’s population has increased more than threefold to approximately 390,000, and the gospel has likewise continued to spread in step with the city’s development.

Sejong Jiphyeon Church is the third church established in the region, following Sejong Church and Sejong Yeonseo Church. About 1,200 people, including local members and the 83rd Overseas Members Visiting Group, attended the dedication worship service and shared in the joy of dedicating the new sanctuary to God. During the service, the visiting group offered a special praise performance of the New SongForever, I Will Long for Jerusalem,” giving glory to God and expressing their hope that God’s love and grace would reach all residents of the community.

Heavenly Mother repeatedly expressed Her gratitude to the members who worked with one heart until the sanctuary was established and bestowed blessings upon them. She prayed that many souls would gather at this church and receive salvation through the beautiful harmony and unity of God’s children, and that more churches would be established so that God’s blessings would dwell throughout Sejong City.

General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol delivered a sermon emphasizing the immeasurable value of the new covenant, saying, “The new covenant that God established to save us is of priceless worth. Let us realize the meaning of God coming again to restore the new covenant that was taken away by Satan, and diligently proclaim its blessings and value” (1 Co 4:5; Rev 5:1–5; 22:1–5, 16; Jer 31:31–34; 2 Co 3:6; Heb 9:15).

As its name indicates, the four-story-above-ground Sejong Jiphyeon Church is located in Jiphyeon-dong. The district’s name originates from Jiphyeonjeon, an institution established by King Sejong the Great during the Joseon Dynasty to cultivate talented individuals. With this heritage in mind, the members expressed their earnest hope to raise many workers of the new covenant, contribute to the spread of the gospel beyond Sejong City and the Chungcheong region, and take part in establishing Zion throughout the global community.
