Dedication Worship Services for the Uiwang and Seongnam Jungang Churches
May They Become Warm and Welcoming Churches Through the Love of God
On June 6, dedication services for the Church of God in Uiwang and the Church of God in Jungang, Seongnam were held in conjunction with the Sabbath worship services. Following the blessing of the Holy Spirit bestowed at Pentecost in May, the members of both churches attended the services with hearts overflowing with gratitude and joy as they celebrated the dedication of their new church buildings.
Mother prayed that the names of Her children who had devoted themselves and worked tirelessly toward the completion of the church buildings would shine forever in the book of life. She also hoped that the wishes they cherished in their hearts would be fulfilled through earnest prayer.
General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol reminded the members of the qualities needed to lead all humanity to Heavenly Mother, the home of our souls and the source of life. He emphasized that each member should help make the church warm and welcoming through words, actions, and attitudes filled with the love of God. “Salmon undergo physical changes, even painful ones, as they return from the sea to the rivers where they were born,” said General Pastor Kim. “Likewise, as we journey toward the kingdom of heaven, let us be transformed in character and faith in accordance with God’s will, benefit the world, and lead many people to salvation. This is why God has established churches in every region.”
The Uiwang Church was built as a complex of four buildings in Wanggok-dong, Uiwang, a city known for its abundant green spaces and emerging as a major transportation hub in the Seoul metropolitan area. The members hope that the new church, with its many flowers and trees, will also become a place of rest for local residents. Together with nearby Churches of God in Anyang and Gunpo, they plan to carry out a variety of volunteer and cultural activities.
The Seongnam Jungang Church was newly constructed in Jungang-dong, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, an area undergoing rapid residential development. The building has one basement level and five stories above ground. In this neighborhood, where the cityscape is changing day by day, the members expressed their determination to consistently practice love and devote themselves to the mission of saving souls.
