One day, I tripped over a stone and fell. In the moment, I was too stunned to pay attention to the pain. But as time passed, my entire body began to ache; my hand swelled up, and a deep bruise appeared on my knee.

Being unable to properly use my hands and feet proved to be more inconvenient than I had imagined. Cleaning, eating, and even praying became difficult. Each time I struggled, the members in Zion comforted me with sincere concern.

The parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 1 Co 12:23–25

The Bible teaches that we are all members of one body. The members in Zion recognized my discomfort even before I said anything, holding my hand, helping with meals, and caring for me in ways that reminded me of the love described in the passage. Just as God gives honor to the parts that seem weaker, they treated me with care and respect. In their thoughtful actions, I could feel the love of our Heavenly Mother.

Though I had once responded to pain with complaint and frustration, God gently reminded me of the beauty and strength found in comforting and supporting those who are struggling. I am truly grateful to Father and Mother for granting me this spiritual realization.
