A Rejection Letter with Consideration

Due to the competitive job market, there are many things job seekers must go through in order to find employment. Receiving constant rejections after taking assessments or going through many rounds of interviews can hinder a person’s confidence and passion for their field. In addition, many companies do not let applicants know if they were hired or not. This in turn leads to frustration because the applicants made many preparations to apply for the positions.

Although receiving a rejection letter can impact the applicant’s self-esteem, there are companies that send a rejection letter with thoughtful words. One company sends a text message to the applicants who did not make it, saying, “It is our fault that we cannot hire more people, not because you are lacking or disqualified.” There is another company that sends a long letter that empathizes with those who were rejected by saying, “I know how you feel because I got rejected many times in the past when I was looking for a job.” Some companies kindly provide the applicants feedback such as the reasons for disqualification or skills they can improve on, so they can succeed in finding a job in the future.

Anyone that receives a rejection letter from a company they are interested in will feel discouraged; however, if they receive encouragement with thoughtful and considerate words, they will be motivated to keep going.
