As we thought about how to share Heavenly Mother’s love with our beloved families and acquaintances, we planned a special invitation event and decided to serve a traditional local dish. The dish we chose, Pastel de Choclo, is a Chilean-style corn pie made by stir-frying ground beef and onions in a pot, mixing in raisins, boiled eggs, and chicken, and then baking it with a generous topping of mashed corn. Just as kimchi stew or soybean paste stew brings comfort to Korean homes, Pastel de Choclo is a cherished dish in corn-rich Chile that carries the warmth of a mother’s cooking.

The day before the event, all the members of Zion united in prayer. Some set alarms to pray every thirty minutes, while others—whether at work or school—continued to pray in their own circumstances as they prepared for the occasion.

On the morning of the event, members gathered early at Zion, filled with excitement. As expected, a mountain of corn awaited us in one corner. We wondered whether we could possibly prepare all of it in a single day, but through unity, nothing was impossible. Beginning with husking the corn, every member served wholeheartedly, filling each step of the process with the love of Mother.

As the time of the event drew near, the invited guests began arriving at Zion. We welcomed them with bowls of lovingly prepared Pastel de Choclo and also introduced them to spiritual food—the words of the Bible. Through this, fifteen precious souls were reborn as children of God.

Sister Nicole came to understand that salvation does not come from belief alone, but that through keeping the Passover, we receive eternal life. Filled with joy, she received the blessing of the new covenant. Brother Matias had often wondered when he saw Zion members speak about God the Mother, “Who exactly is God the Mother?” After learning about the Passover from one of the members, he came to know God the Father and God the Mother who restored the New Covenant Passover. Moved by the truth, he called his parents and said, “The church I’ve been attending never taught about the Sabbath—the commemoration day of the Creator—or the Passover, the way to eternal life. Now that I’ve found the true truth, I will live according to it.” Then, he was baptized.

Brother Carlos, who had received new life the day before the event, shared the news with his mother. To his surprise, she had already heard about God the Mother a few weeks earlier from a Zion member and had agreed to study the Bible further. Overjoyed to hear that her son had received God’s blessing, she attended the event with him and accepted the truth as well.

As we sought ways to share Heavenly Mother’s love with even one more soul, the answer God gave us was unity. From the prayers offered in preparation, to inviting loved ones, to cooking the food and sharing the Word—everything was done in unity. And as a result, we reaped a rich harvest of well-ripened fruits.

We, the Zion in La Florida, Chile, will continue to remember God’s teachings and remain united like plump kernels of corn, bearing abundant and perfectly ripened fruit.
