Members of the South Gangnam Church Region Carry Out Fallen Leaf Collection and Forest Cleanup at Omi Ecological Park
Maintaining Clean and Safe Forests
On December 4, 220 members of the Gangnam Nambu Church Region, along with and local residents, carried out the “Forest of Hope” campaign at Omi Ecological Park on Hoamsan Mountain in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. To help prevent forest fires and maintain clean forests, participants collected 260 kg of fallen leaves and other trash. They also held a panel exhibition for residents on the prevention of desertification. The Geumcheon District Office welcomed the members’ efforts and actively supported the campaign by providing necessary supplies, such as sacks, gloves, and litter pickers.
Before the activity began, Yoo Dong-hyun, Head of Siheung 5-dong, visited the site and encouraged the participants, saying, “I am grateful that so many members joined the fallen leaf collection despite the cold weather. I hope today’s activity will be carried out safely and smoothly from beginning to end.”
