On December 1, approximately 70 members from the Church of God in Huancayo, Peru, engaged in flood recovery activities in Chilca, Huancayo. Among them were Cesar Augusto Damas Laurente, Head of Chilca District, and Betzabe Fabian Gonzales Regidora, Councilor of Provincial Municipality of Huancayo.
The Chilca District had suffered considerable damage from heavy rainfall four days earlier. At the request of Councilor Betzabe Gonzales, the recovery efforts were undertaken on Orellana Street.
With shovels, picks, and gunny sacks provided by the Huancayo Municipality, the members cleared the mud piled up inside houses and laid fresh sand on the floors. They also removed the bricks from collapsed walls to clean up the area. As a result of the day’s efforts, four households managed to recover from the flood damage.
The members also delivered groceries to their affected neighbors, extending heartfelt support for their swift recovery to normalcy.
