A dedication service for the Church of God in Taejang, Wonju, Korea, was held on July 7. Wonju is the largest city in Gangwon State. The ceremony took place in conjunction with the Third-Day Worship Service. Church members, local residents, and figures from various fields joined in the celebration not only from Yeongseo, where Wonju is located, but also from across the Yeongdong region, including Gangneung, Donghae, and Sokcho.

Mother prayed that abundant blessings would be upon the members in all they do, as they had worked together in unity for the beautiful completion of the temple. She also encouraged everyone to live in harmony, strengthen one another’s faith through love, and lead many people to warm Zion.

General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol preached that the church, established through the members’ prayers and dedicated efforts under God’s blessing, should serve as a lamp guiding many souls to the path of life. He emphasized, “Christ opened the path to life for humanity through the New Covenant Passover. Let us go beyond Wonju to all of Gangwon State, throughout Korea, and across the world, leading many souls to this path.”

Wonju, with a population of 360,000, serves as a gateway connecting inland Gangwon State with the Seoul metropolitan area. The city has steadily developed through initiatives such as its designation as a Special Zone for Advanced Medical and Healthcare Industries and the establishment of an innovation city. Founded in 2015, the Church in Taejang, Wonju, was newly constructed in Taejang-dong with two basement levels and four floors above ground. The area has recently seen expanded residential, educational, and community infrastructure through urban development projects. A multipurpose cultural and sports complex, including a park and an art museum, is also planned for the nearby site of a former U.S. military base and is expected to foster closer communication and interaction with local residents.

Over the years, the Church in Taejang, Wonju, has made a positive impact on the local community through a variety of activities, including environmental cleanups along Munmakcheon Stream, holiday assistance for neighbors in need, and emergency snow removal during the winter. In 2025, the Church received a commendation from the Director of the Gangwon State Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross in recognition of its efforts to protect lives through blood donation. Expressing their joy at celebrating the church dedication after a long wait, the members said, “We are as happy as if it were a festival.” They added, “We will unite with members throughout Gangwon State, diligently put God’s teachings into practice, and share love throughout Yeongseo and Yeongdong.”
